Review: Marrying Emily by Susan Stoker

Marrying Emily

Title: Marrying Emily

Series: Delta Force Heroes #4

Author: Susan Stoker

Blurb: Few people know better than Delta Force soldiers that life is unbearably short and achingly precious. So Cormac Fletcher isn’t waiting one more day to marry the love of his life, Emily. Fletch has already adopted her daughter, Annie. Now it’s time to officially make Emily his too.

Emily understands just about every woman experiences a few wedding snafus—but they’re usually not of the harrowing, life-or-death variety. Fortunately for her, a guest list full of Delta soldiers and SEALs will make this an event to remember—for both Emily and the uninvited guests trying to ruin her special day.

Thoughts: It was cool to see Fish, maybe put him in the new security series? I hope this isn’t the end of him. Always love to see returning side characters or ones spoken of. Oh Annie and scars! She’s just too much!
Later note: Can’t wait for Fish’s story!

Twisted Desire by Sharon Kay

Twisted Desire
Title: Twisted Desire

Series: Titan world & Solsti/Watcher’s Kiss

AuthorSharon Kay

Blurb: From New York Times bestselling author Cristin Harber and Award-winning author Sharon Kay comes an exciting collaboration…

Rhys MacLeod is a warrior first and a hacker second. Preserving the balance of power among supernatural beings is his prime directive, as well as keeping it far from human eyes. The discovery of a man killed by magical force on a Chicago street lands him on an op he didn’t expect. He’s good, but solving this crime requires a call to the best of the best.

Parker Black of Titan Group never met a network he couldn’t infiltrate. Along with Titan team member Locke Oliver and Megan, a scientist who witnessed the murder, they uncover a maze of encrypted files and unethical DNA manipulation.

Rhys is duty bound to keep all supernatural details hidden from his human friends, so identifying the killer becomes more complicated when clues indicate the perp isn’t human. And when the murderer shows up at their location, every second counts before its true nature is revealed.

Thoughts: Wow! This was really good! Meshing both genres in writing this works very smoothly. It has a taste of both! Found the scene between Jude and Rhys after the lady exits the elevator with her dog really funny. Trying to figure out if Cara is a one-off or she exists in Solsti / Watcher world. I may need to go read the rest of Titan books that are out!

Blurb:

Jack Delvaux is alive

Summer Redding thought the blindingly handsome jock who’d loved and left her years ago had died in the Washington Massacre. She grieved for her lost golden boy as the rest of the country mourned their dead—until she comes home to find a very alive Jack Delvaux waiting for her with a devastating secret that turns her life upside down.

No longer the carefree man he was in his youth, this Jack is dark, hard and dangerous; a fifteen-year veteran of the CIA hungry for answers…and hungry for her. The rich, good-looking charmer who broke her heart once before would have been easy to resist, but this man, this powerful man? Summer needs him, and he knows it.

When Jack’s mission uncovers evidence of government involvement in the Massacre—and plans for another attack—he’s primed for revenge. But he has more than vengeance to live for now, and when Summer’s life is threatened, it’s nearly Jack’s undoing. Someone taking shots at his woman? That’s a dead man walking.
